DOUBLE HAPPINESS
Detour This Way
A performance, research project, and visual album.
Sounding two parallel histories, Double Happiness: Detour This Way winds through the complexities of the Chinese diaspora by tracing migration paths of two families, connecting both shores of the Pacific using live music in a multimedia performance.
Double Happiness is led by
Nancy Tam & Robyn Jacob.
Since our first performance in 2020 at Left of Main in Vancouver’s Chinatown, Double Happiness has expanded to include an ever-growing list of new content. In 2022, get ready for a revamped live performance at Music on Main’s Modulus Festival, new records by Nancy Tam and Robyn Jacob & Only A Visitor (and enjoy their previously released album, Technicolour Education), and a visual album titled A Little Detour, supported by an array of collaborators, including filmmaker Daniel O’Shea, illustrator Kat Morris, and more.
You can find all the news and content here at happinesshappiness.ca.
